Post-Testing

After testing, certain teams are more favored than others compared to pre-testing odds. However, Melbourne is a far different track from Bahrain, and we still don’t truly know where everyone stands.

McLaren appears to have remained strong and is the favorite. Although they didn’t top the times in testing, their sector times were impressive. Fuel levels remain unknown, and some lifting was observed, but McLaren is glowing with confidence, with no significant hiccups reported.

Williams also looks stronger after topping the test times, while Mercedes seems sharp following an impressive third day of testing.

Aston Martin and Kick Sauber appear to be struggling the most, and there are signs that Red Bull may not be as dominant as they had hoped.

The rest of the field remains in the mix.


Value Spotting

Many rookies have significantly higher odds than their more experienced counterparts. With a good car and a bit of luck, they’re all worth considering.

Williams, Haas, and Alpine offer reasonable odds for top-six finishes and points, with any of the three potentially delivering a stronger-than-expected performance.

Ferrari is a wildcard—its odds have lengthened since testing, which could present a good opportunity for Ferrari fans.

Even though their odds have shortened, Mercedes still offers good value.

At the time of writing, rain is forecasted for Sunday and possibly qualifying. This could boost the chances of standout wet-weather drivers like Ocon or Verstappen and consider Antonelli who had a remarkable wet weather performance in F2 and has already practiced wet driving in F1 during testing.
